I realize everyone has their own holiday tradition.
Christmas eve on South Wildwood Avenue meant my dad running over to help his friend assemble toys for his 6 kids, three of which were identical girls.
Actually my dad really only knew how to hammer, so I’m guessing he was there just to give George moral support.
Being Jewish in most Jewish families is a day to eat Chinese food and see a movie but our family traditions included celebrating my father’s birthday.
Our Christmas morning breakfast always began with wishing my father Happy Birthday. Yes, he was a Christmas baby!
Christmas was always part of our holiday season because we always had something to celebrate.
Our holiday morning almost always began with my dad cooking breakfast and I can assure you that crispy bacon was always on his menu.
Actually it wasn’t so crispy, which is why I never loved bacon until I discovered how good it could be when it was crispy!
He also made classic French toast or Bisquick pancakes, so our table always had Log Cabin maple syrup on it along with Pillsbury poppin’ fresh cinnamon rolls.
Yes, that’s how our whole family did it!

FAQ’s
Is there a traditional Christmas breakfast?
According to AllRecipes it is cinnamon rolls. All I can say is that that works out for me!
What are good holiday breakfast ideas for work?
I vote for any of the breakfast casseeroles or a special bakery basket with your favorites. Additionally a quiche and fruit salad would work as would a granola bar.
Hopefully this list will help you design your own Christmas brunch menu.
And for sure the big day always requires a cup of coffee.
Which just may sustain you until Christmas dinner!
