It’s not very often I come across such a simple recipe for dessert.
I figured high time I should share it. Last Valentines Day I tried this creamy concotion and couldn’t believe how something with so few ingredients could be so good. So heavenly. SO perfect.
This nutella mousse needs to be on your radar because everyone needs a simple dessert idea for those unexpected moments.
And my guess is this luscious dessert may cause you to plan lots of unexpected moments!

Why Nutella Mousse is Incredible
This recipe for nutella mousse is just 4 ingredients.
Everyone loves chocolate mousse so I think you know that’s part of why this dessert is so incredible.
And after all Nutella is 10% chocolate, so yes, the chocolate flavor does come through.
Did I mention this dessert is gluten free?
And no need for eggs in this simple mousse.
I also think being able to make a dessert that everyone loves in about 10 minutes is pretty incredible, wouldn’t you say?
4 Ingredients Needed For Nutella Mousse
Nutella or your favorite Hazelnut Paste
Creme Fraiche or Sour Cream or Greek Yogurt
Hazelnut Liqueur, Brandy, or Baileys or Vanilla Extract
Heavy Cream Whipped until stiff peaks form
Optional: Berries for garnish and cocoa powder
Optional: Espresso Coffee Granules (Mix in with creme fraiche for a coffee flavor.)
Optional: Serve with cookies for dessert
How To Make Nutella Mousse
In a medium bowl, beat the nutella, creme fraiche, and liqueur of your choice at low speed until smooth.
Add the whipped cream and fold into the nutella mixture until no streaks remain.
Spoon the mixture into small dessert bowls, about 1/2 c per serving.
Chill for about 20 minutes or cover and leave in fridge overnight.
Bring to room temperature for best flavor before serving.
What are good substitutes for creme fraiche?
Sour cream is an acceptable substitute though it has less fat content. Greek yogurt is also an acceptable substitute but will make this mousse less rich.
What is creme fraiche?
Creme fraiche is a rich tangy cream that is 30% fat. It is the European equivalent of sour cream. it is made by combining heavy cream with buttermilk.
8 Ways To Use Nutella Mousse
Nutella Mousse is great served in small dessert dishes, however there are many more ways to use it.
Spread between your favorite cookies for a homemade ice cream sandwich. Use chocolate or vanilla wafers or just go for it and spread this decadent mousse between two chocolate chip cookies. Yes, they can be frozen.
Use as a pie or tart filling in a graham cracker or Oreo crust.
Make your own parfaits by layering with extra whipped cream and cookie crumbs.
Spread between cake layers. Just make sure to refrigerate the cake!
Use in tiramisu or a trifle.
Make layered brownies with mousse in the middle and on top.
This hazelnut Nutella mousse tastes decadent and comforting and thank goodness I put it in small bowls!

Ingredients
1/2 c Nutella
1/4 c creme fraiche or sour cream
2 t brandy or hazelnut liqueur
1/2 c heavy cream whipped
Wafer Cookies
Instructions
In a medium bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the Nutella with the creme fraiche and liqueur at low speed until smooth.
In another bowl beat the heavy cream until firm peaks form. Using a rubber spatula. fold the whipped cream into the Nutella mixture until no streaks remain.
Spoon about 1/2 c of the mousse into small dessert cups and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes.
