Description

This no bake banana split pie has a cookie crumb crust, a layer of vanilla cream and a chocolate layer laden with maraschino cherries and bananas. There’s no ice cream in this, but it is frozen and tastes divine!

Ingredients

Units Scale

Crust:

1 c graham cracker crumbs

1/4 c chopped peanuts, pecans or walnuts

3 T melted butter

3 T sugar

Vanilla Pie Filling:

1/2 c softened butter

1 1/2 c powdered sugar

2 eggs

1 t vanilla

Chocolate Pie Filling:

1 c heavy cream, whipped

2 T cocoa

1/2 c powdered sugar

1/2 c chopped peanuts, pecans or walnuts

1/4 c chopped maraschinos

2 ripe bananas, pureed

Hot Fudge Sauce, Whipped Cream Chopped Nuts, Caramel or Butterscotch Sauce, Crushed Pineapple, Maraschino Cherries, Strawberries

Instructions

Combine crust ingredients and press into pie plate. Chill while making filling.

With a mixer or food processor, combine butter and sugar and process until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix well. Top the crust with this mixture and place in freezer while making chocolate filling.

Whip cream and add cocoa and and sugar and whip until stiff peaks form. Stir in the nuts and cherries.

Puree the bananas with a blender or an immersion blender or even a fork and stir those into the chocolate mixture. Fold together gently and spread this on top of the vanilla mixture.

Place in freezer for 5 to 24 hours.

Serve with sundae toppings of your choice. To slice use a knife that has been dipped into hot water.

Notes

If you don’t feel like whipping cream, use Cool Whip, but leave out the powdered sugar. The texture will be a little different, but this pie will still be great!
