Description
If you love Boursin cheese, you’ll be happy to know that making your own garlic and herb cheese spread at home is easy. With cream cheese, butter, garlic, herbs, and a few pantry staples, you can make a creamy, flavorful spread that disappears on a cheese board. Plus, it's more economical than buying a round at the store.
Ingredients
8 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
4 tablespoons salted butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 t kosher salt or more as needed
1/4 teaspoon white wine vinegar
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
1 T finely chopped chives or garlic chives
1 T finely chopped Italian parsley
Instructions
Process cream cheese, butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, vinegar, and white pepper in processor until smooth, light and fluffy, 1-2 minutes total, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl as necessary.
Remove the blade and using a rubber spatula add the chives and parsley and stir until combined. Taste and season with more salt and pepper as necessary.
Using a jar or souffle cup, line with plastic wrap and leave a 2" overhang. Spoon the cheese into the container, pressing to make sure there are no air pockets. Smooth out the top and fold the plastic wrap to cover.
Chill overnight for best results. Before serving, let sit at room temperature for 15-30 minutes before unmolding and serving.
