  • Cuisine: American

Ingredients

Scale

2 c flour

1 t salt

4 t baking powder

2 T sugar

2 eggs, room temp

1 1/2 c milk

2/3 c melted butter or 11 Tablespoons, cooled

Instructions

Put flour, salt, baking powder and sugar in a mixing bowl. Stir with fork until blended.

In another bowl beat the eggs well and stir in the milk. Combine with the flour mixture until mixed. Add the melted butter and beat until blended.

Pour about 1/3 to 1/2 c batter into a hot waffle iron. How much really depends on the size of your waffle iron. Bake until the waffles are golden and crisp which for my waffle iron was about 90 seconds to two minutes. Serve with toppings of your choice.

Notes

We like our waffles with fresh berries, whipped cream and maple syrup. Other toppings might include chocolate chips, chopped nuts or bananas.

Waffles can be reheated in a toaster oven at 300 degrees for a few minutes. When you start to smell them they are warmed!
