Hot Fudge Sauce

Chocolate and cocoa combined with heavy cream and butter is the best recipe for hot fudge sauce that I know of. Ready in less than 15 minutes and no corn syrup! Be still my heart!

Hot Fudge Sauce

Hot Fudge Sauce may seem like a summer food. However you are wrong.

The act of pouring something hot and fudgy over ice cream, in perhaps the depths of winter, makes this a winter food.

Because it’s hot. That is my logic and I’m sticking to it!

There is not much I enjoy more than a sundae with homemade hot fudge sauce.

It is without apology that I offer this to many dinner guests for dessert.

Truly I’ve served amazing things to my guests for dessert, but nothing makes their eyes light up like a hot fudge sundae.

So set out the toppings and let them make magic!

This chocolatey, rich hot fudge sauce with deep chocolate undertones and a touch of salt, is totally amazing.

I must admit to dipping my spoon into it as it sits in the refrigerator luring me in.

Hot or not, this hot fudge recipe is divine.

This hot fudge sauce makes a great hostess gift and whenever I make it I always set aside a small jar for those “need a gift, just in case” occasions.

Really it beats a bottle of wine. Or flowers. Really, it does.

To me vanilla or coffee ice cream just doesn’t taste as good, unless drenched in this hot fudge sauce.

Zoe would probably prefer it over peppermint. I do think I could agree with her on this!

My mother prefers butter pecan and Manservant will eat it with anything.

You know I don’t actually know what Alex Odie San China Boy likes, but my guess is he would do chocolate ice cream with this recipe for hot fudge sauce.

And there you have it. The ice cream chronicles of our family.

And they are all with hot fudge.

Trust me on this.

This hot fudge sauce is a genuine winner. It’s simple to make and ready in less than 15 minutes. No corn syrup required.

It makes a perfect gift and gifting season is upon us. Perfect on any ice cream,; I have no worries that this hot fudge sauce will become a classic.

It will be something that is asked for again and again.

It will become a family request. Yes. It is that good!

Description

Chocolate and cocoa combined with heavy cream and butter makes the best hot fudge sauce. And it’s ready in less than 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Units Scale

1 c salted butter at room temperature

4 oz unsweetened chocolate, roughly chopped

1 c Dutch processed cocoa

1 1/3 c sugar

2 c heavy cream

1 t salt

1 T vanilla

Instructions

In a heavy saucepan over low heat, melt butter and chocolate, stirring fairly often so chocolate doesn’t burn.

Add the cocoa, sugar, and 1 1/2 c cream. Turn heat to medium low and stir constantly until lumps are gone and sauce is just heated, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in remaining 1/2 cream and mix until smooth and thick, about 1 more minute.

Remove from heat and stir in salt and vanilla. Pour into small jars and let cool. Then cover. Keeps in the refrigerator for 6-8 weeks.
